The Fashion Curator

I call this my Cocoa Shonel Dress…

It all began with a few pieces here and there, and now  into a basement full unique pieces from all over. I have been collecting vintage clothing for quite some time(almost 2 years), and it has been an amazing treasure hunt.

I Started out as a what you call a “Fashionista” with a tender foot. My style was not bad – I just hated looking like everyone else. Today, I am a thriftoholic and also a vintage searcher and seeker (or treasure hunter, as some may say). When I do my shopping, I go  way overboard, but I can not help my self – vintage and retro clothes are just so amazing and fascinating to me.  I  just love feeling different and  being able to express my unique personality through my style choices.

I started getting into thrifting my senior year in college in 2008, when I was on my own for the first time. I actually just hated going to the mall, and once again looking like the person next to me. After vowing to never look like a cookie-cutter images again,  thrifting has become more than just a hobby – it has made me develop an eye for picking out what I see as  fabulous vintage and retro clothing. I love advertising and representing Yesterday’s Glam through my style choices. I am still learning along the way! I do also look up the designers or the tags from the clothing that I handpick out to determine if it’s vintage, retro, or contemporary. However, alongside the thrifting, I do venture out to many different vintage clothing stores as well. I also do my research through the internet or collecting books and magazines to help me with my searching and understanding of vintage and retro clothing. I have grown to love it! and I hope I can give you a new perspective on vintage and retro clothing through the eyes of Yesterday’s Glam.
